ARTATTACK | 16 - 27 June | Pusztafalu, Hungary

The aim of the project is to use music and art to enhance the intercultural dialogue among 40 young people from Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic and Portugal.

The methods utilized in this program will be nonformal and interactive, including simulations, role-playing, group painting, theatrical exercises, music therapy sessions, and more. Through these methods, participants will be able to engage with the power of art and music, and recognize their crucial role in fostering intercultural dialogue.

Day 1.
The first day was all about meeting and getting to know each other during the fun group activities filled with joy and laughter, which inspired longer conversations among the different nationalities.

Day 2.
On the second day we learned to work together in teams, dealing with the responsibility of completing tasks and helping each other out when it is needed, but still having fun, making jokes and getting along even in stressful situations.

Day 3.
On day three we had a lot of fun exploring the local area and also exploring our cultural differences while acting out different scenarios to help each other really understand the beauty of each nation, along with presenting our traditions on the first intercultural night of the week

Day 4.
Day four was about researching and getting familiar with Erasmus+ opportunities and the different competencies that we can improve by taking part in this Youth Exchange, while we also worked on improving our artistic senses with creating collages from materials found in nature or in the local area.

Day 5.
On day five we explored the world of rythm and music, creating musical instruments out of anything we could find in nature or the local area, even recycling unused materials that'd otherwise end up in the trash. With these unique creations we wrote and sang a few songs about the important topic of social inclusion, bringing us even closer together.

Day 6.
Day six was about interviewing the locals about their opinion on and relation to art. Afterwards we let our creativity flow freely and made beautiful paintings and drawings representing our imagined dream community which incorporates empathy and the understanding, accepting of other's regardless of their attributes.

Day 7.
On day seven together we all went on a hiking trip to discover the nature and surroundings of Sárospatak, along with the beautiful tarn there. Later we split up and one part of the group stayed to go swimming and the others explored the town of Sátoraljaújhely with its nice buildings, walkways and shops.

Day 8.
On day eight we presented the paintings and drawings we made before about our dream community, then we had a lot of fun going on a super cool awesome hiking trip together to explore the local forest and pond near the Slovakian border.

Day 9.
On day nine we expressed our feelings and experience about the project through different creative pieces of art, like drawings, paintings, dance choreographies, poems and theatre plays. We played games outside in nature, which brought us closer together and built our community, on the theme of social inclusion, and then together we filled and completed our YouthPass certificate.

Day 10.
Lastly, day ten was all about saying our final goodbyes to each other, playing our last energizer games together, and leaving cute but meaningful little farewell messages for everyone. We also did the final evaluation, taking into account everybody's experience and opinion about the project. We thank everyone for the experience and hope you had a great time all together!
