About the host organisation

Legaramlat is a non-profit non-governmental organization founded in Budapest, Hungary by active university students to promote active lifestyle, create opportunities for their peers to try sports like sailing and paragliding in which organization members are highly experienced. Our main goal is to provide young people with equal opportunities to participate in the events, projects organized by our organization and our partners to try out new sports they usually would not have an opportunity to do, to grow personally and professionally in safe non-formal learning contexts.

We seek to show to young people that their world does not over with the walls of their communities, there are many different opportunities to get actively involved in Erasmus+ programme, to grow, learn, travel, get exposed to different cultures, try new things that they are usually deprived from.

About our project

This project responds to the need of young people to learn, develop and improve their current situation and future, by putting emphasize this time on financial literacy due to their interest to increase their competences in this field. This need of them to acquire financial literacy came from a practicality when during a projects’ mobility in a foreign country encountered difficulties to manage their personal budgets and their soon graduation determine them to realize they need to learn more about how can plan their own finances.

Goal: Increase the level of financial literacy of young people from HU, BG, RO and LT in order to improve their capacities to manage their budget once they get to their independent lives and empower them to actively get involved in the creation of the youth exchange that will take place in Mezobereny, Hungary between 09 and 18.09.2019.

During the project the participants will increase their level of financial knowledge, skills, attitudes/behaviours in a safe intercultural learning context. Another objective of the project is to raise awareness of the Erasmus+ programme and of the importance of financial literacy acquired at an early age in the local communities from where the young participants are coming. The third objective is to increase the capacities of the partner organisations in offering support to empower young people to develop their individual learning plans on financial literacy.

The results

Our main goal is to increase the level of financial literacy of young people from HU, BG, RO and LT in order to improve their capacities to manage their budget once they get to their independent lives and empower them to actively get involved in the creation of the YE. Therefore, during the YE participants will develop skills, knowledge and attitudes/behaviours which will boost their sense of  initiative, as well as their skills in managing their budget for an independent and balanced life. Participants will do dissemination activities that aim to raise awareness of the importance of financial literacy from an early age within their communities. Participants will share the results, good experiences and increased competences with their peers encouraging them to learn and be more active in their local communities, to be more initiative.

Participants of our project will improve their financial literacy and that will allow them to make informed and effective decisions with all their financial resources. Thus, their soon graduation will not represent a threat or them in terms of not being able to manage their own budgets and will have the capacities to get financial independency more quickly. An additional impact is the fact that participants will become more cultural aware and will understand differences and similarities between them and others.
