Margaret Island became the perfect playground for 36 students from BGSZC Pesterzsébeti Technikum, who spent a day full of discovery, teamwork, and outdoor fun during an exciting treasure hunt.
As teams set off to find hidden landmarks across the island, they uncovered not only statues and historical buildings, but also the fascinating stories behind them. From ancient Roman ruins to the iconic Water Tower and the peaceful ruins of St. Michael’s Chapel, each stop was a chance to connect with the island’s rich history and cultural heritage.
The treasure hunt also helped participants develop their digital skills. Using Google Drive, students organized their discoveries and photos, while health tracking apps helped them follow their routes and reflect on their activity. It was a hands-on way to bring technology and teamwork together.
Being outdoors was a big part of the experience. Whether walking or riding Surrey bikes around the island, everyone enjoyed some fresh air, light exercise, and a welcome break from the classroom.
By the end of the day, the students came back with full galleries, fun facts, and great memories—not to mention a few tired legs and plenty of smiles.
