Mezőberény, Hungary
The DigitArt youth exchange held in Mezőberény, Hungary, brought together participants from Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Moldova, and Poland. This dynamic program focused on developing digital skills, promoting environmental awareness, and fostering cultural exchange. Participants, many of whom faced fewer opportunities, were empowered to explore the possibilities of digital art, including AI tools, photography, and videography, while reflecting on how art can be a powerful medium for raising awareness of green practices and environmental challenges.
Over seven days, participants engaged in creative workshops, collaborative projects, and cultural activities. They learned to use innovative digital tools like Canva and AI-based art generators, compared traditional and digital art forms, and worked together to create impactful visual storytelling pieces. Beyond skill development, the program encouraged teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving while fostering empathy and cross-cultural communication. The vibrant mix of hands-on activities and discussions enabled participants to explore the intersection of art, technology, and sustainability, leaving them inspired to use their knowledge to promote positive change in their communities.

These sessions encouraged critical thinking about technology's role in art and environmental advocacy. Photography and videography workshops equipped participants with practical skills to capture and edit visual content. Participants created digital galleries showcasing their work, using art to highlight eco-friendly practices and raise awareness of sustainability.
Cultural exchange played a significant role in the program, with evenings dedicated to sharing traditions, food, and dances from each country. A study visit to Gyula offered participants a chance to explore local culture while discussing how digital art can promote active citizenship and environmental awareness.
Daily reflection sessions allowed participants to document their learning journey and consolidate their experiences, preparing them to implement what they learned in their own communities. The program concluded with a farewell ceremony, where participants shared their achievements and discussed dissemination plans for spreading the project's impact.
