Rastislav, Slovakia

I am participating right now in Building Empathy - Erasmus+ project, where there are students from 6 countries. We are a group of 10 participants from Slovakia, other groups are from Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. I have to admit I am very pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic spirit of the whole project, the eagerness of attendees to contribute to the success and the good mood.

Regarding accommodation and food, all were provided by Erasmus+, which means it was free for all participants.

We tried many activities, verbal, non-verbal, physical, and mental - to be aware of what real empathy and equality mean in the working and also the domestic environment. Being not only around 80 people but also being with 80 peopĺe created an opportunity to live and feel the real meaning of empathy and equality.  I am grateful to be here.

Bianka, Slovakia

What I like about this project is the opportunity to meet new people, and learn new languages and new cultures. We have the opportunity to express our opinion, show our talent and our personality. We learn how to communicate and we gain new experiences. After the activities, we have a lot of fun at night activities and parties.

Spaciu, Romania

When I heard about this project first time, I thought that it would be an interesting topic from which I could learn a lot. I wanted to learn how to be a better person, to be better empathetic with the dear ones around me and I feel like I achieved my goal through non-formal learning.

Besides the main topic, I am so grateful that I improved my teamwork skills and I started to be more confident in myself when I am talking in public.

I would like to thank the staff for their implication and their dedication, everyone for their presence and for making this project for me unforgettable. I hope in the future I would be able to come again to an Erasmus+ project because I love them so much.

I heard about the theme and I liked it, came here to learn something, made a lot of friends, and have a very good experience, Erasmus bring me a lot of joy in my life and I am grateful for it,

I recommend it to all my friends, and my close ones (:

I think empathy is a big deal in society. We all should learn about it because that's what makes the world a beautiful place and allows us to live in society.

Cláudia, Portugal

The theme of this project is very critical because there is a great need to address interpersonal issues with young people. So, I was super motivated to know more about the work done in this area and learn more about different cultural perspectives on the topic. I believe my expectations were fulfilled since I was able to exchange stories, talk about life experiences and learn with everyone who was part of this project. It was fuuun! Now I have a bag full of good memories and maybe friends to meet again anywhere in the world.

Filipa, Portugal

Coming on this project was an amazing experience, not only because it allowed me to learn about a culture and country I had never been to, but also because of all the wonderful people I met in these 10 days.

I would recommend it to anyone who has ever felt the urge to discover new cultures, and places and learn about important topics.

Adéla, Czech Republic

I decided to join this project because the topic of "Empathy" seemed interesting and I wanted to find out how it would be delivered by the facilitators. Since it is not a very common topic, discussed in Erasmus+ projects, I was surprised by how well the activities were prepared and how much I learned about emotional intelligence, empathy, sympathy and body language.

Finally, I made a lot of friends, learned a lot about other countries and I look forward to my next Erasmus project!

Lukáš, Czech Republic

I was expecting to do a lot of team building activities and get to know other people, make friends and understand how they see the world and understand empathy a bit more. Learn better English, learn how to work in a team better understand others and listen to them.

Bea, Hungary

At the end of the project, I mastered the key elements of empathy, how to work in a team most effectively, how to talk in front of people, and how to understand body language. This was my third project. The previous projects helped me get out of my comfort zone, and now I scored that level where I can improvise, and barely use translation, I improved my English skills very much and of course, I learned a lot of things in different languages. The beginning of this journey was interesting. I didn’t know many people, we had to get used to each other, and build respect and trust for the next 10 days because I made friends for life.

Andrew, Hungary

Exceptional! One of the best youth programs in the world. Gives young people an opportunity to learn informally, and build soft skills and friendships across borders.

10/10, would recommend it!

Karina, Spain

Building empathy is my first Erasmus+ project. I have learned about emotional intelligence, body language and active listening to others.

In addition, I have improved my language and writing skills in English.

Day by day, I have learned new cultures from different countries and new languages, which I have enjoyed very much.

During this project, I have also made many friends. It is a unique opportunity that I recommend to everyone.

Blanca, Spain

Building empathy has been my first erasmus+ project and it couldn't have been better. In the beginning, I didn't know where I was going but when I arrived I felt very confident. The people, the staff, the team leaders, everyone was very nice.

Besides learning about empathy and emotional intelligence skills, I learned about other cultures and improved my English.

It is an experience I will repeat!
