Légáramlat was the official Hungarian partner and host organization of the Rural Goes Green youth exchange, welcoming 32 young people from Hungary, Romania, Serbia, and the Czech Republic for a week of learning, creativity, and environmental awareness. The project focused on reconnecting rural and small-town youth with nature, sustainability, and European values through practical workshops, outdoor activities, and intercultural teamwork
Participants explored eco-friendly lifestyles, traditional rural practices, and modern environmental challenges through creative workshops, outdoor games, and teamwork activities. The program also strengthened inclusion by engaging young people with fewer opportunities in meaningful international learning.
Objectives of the project:
Empower youth with green competences by introducing sustainable habits and practical environmental knowledge.
Promote intercultural understanding through shared experiences and international cooperation.
Encourage inclusion and participation for young people with fewer opportunities, especially from rural areas.
Foster European values and environmental awareness linked to civic responsibility and digital participation.
Strengthen partner organizations and support long-term cooperation within green and inclusive Erasmus+ projects.
Throughout the week, participants discovered Erasmus+ and Youthpass, practiced sustainable habits, experimented with upcycling and green innovation, and took part in community actions such as the TrashTag Challenge in Békéscsaba. Interactive sessions—including environmental games, creative challenges, and an Eco-Policy Hackathon—helped them build teamwork, leadership, and digital skills.
The exchange concluded with reflection and digital storytelling activities, empowering participants to share their experiences and promote greener lifestyles in their communities.
By the end of the project, the young participants left inspired, better connected, and motivated to take action for a more sustainable and inclusive Europe.
